Busy, busy, busy! Worked all day, then had to stop by both UPS and USPS, as well as do a bunch of chores. But I did it all!
Wouldn't have been nearly as bad if it weren't for how truly exhausted I've felt lately... I wake up feeling tired, nap on my lunch break, and can't stop thinking about sleeping right up until I go to bed. Perhaps the warmer weather is causing me to feel more tired?
On a happier note: it'll be Easter this Sunday (the 5th)! Happy Easter! Currently I've got no plans for this Sunday. But work got us all a little barbecue-style lunch. Green beans, coleslaw, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and some sweet treats! (I ate so much mac and cheese... 🫣)
And I listened to 3 albums today:
Started with "Don’t Get Too Close" by Skrillex. Don’t Leave Me Like This was the only one I personally enjoyed. Especially the outro hits hard:
"[...] where something is gonna happen to me that I don’t know what it's gonna be." And you would dig that and would come out of that and you would say “Wow that was a close shave, wasn’t it?” Then you would get more and more adventurous and you would make further- and further-out gambles as to what you would dream. And finally, you would dream where you are now.
[Alan Watts - The Dream Of Life]
"Quest For Fire", also by Skrillex. "Warped Tour ’05 with pete WENTZ" is an interesting... "song" that I quite liked. Caught me off-guard, for sure! "A Street I Know" is an absolute banger though! Really reminded me of the earlier, more experimental, trap songs from ~2014, like The Bird Machine. The heavy bass, paired with the oddly melancholic vocals... It's truly special! (To me, at least.)
Finally, "Random Album Title" by deadMau5. Liked all the songs on that album! "Complications" is probably my favorite track on there though. It pairs so nicely with "Sometimes Things Get, Whatever" (which precedes it), and the flatline near the end brings up so many questions. This song, despite its upbeat tempo, has an air of sadness to it. I suppose it's complicated, huh?
As for the notes:
- Rumors (?) of a new Fitbit, Whoop-style. I probably won't get this, but I'm curious and definitely might be tempted if the price is right and the features fit my needs.
- I found out that the "v0t3f0rp3dr02004@gmail.com" mentioned in Sundar Pichai's post is a reference to the 2004 movie Napoleon Dynamite. (In my defense, it's a movie I haven't seen yet.)
- Learned about Taylor Lorenz’s Power User podcast. Added to my huge (and ever-increasing) list of podcasts! Hopefully I'll report back with positive news.
- Remembered Dave Plummer, "The guy behind Windows things". He stopped showing up in my recommendations, but I've already added a bunch of his newer videos to my Watch Later list!
- The Antscan project! This goes way over my head, but it's so cool and something I want to look into further. (Scans of ants, in 3D, in case that wasn't clear!)
- There's a rack-mounted Mac Pro, evidently. Or was, I suppose. Made me do a double-take and rewind when I first heard about that! Never heard about these, which tracks...
- On the Waveform Podcast, the crew goes over their Top 5 apps in the latest episode. Here are the apps I'm going to try:
- Blip.
- Athlytic.
- Relay for Reddit. (Android only?)
- TickTick.
- Libby.
There are some more apps outside of these I'd like to try as well. But I can only do so many things at once!
I'm short on time tonight, so there were a few more notes I'll need to save for later. Like I said; busy!
Had to rush, so hopefully there aren't (too m)any typos. 😅
