Alas... I've been too tired to do anything. Too sick to have a good time. Tired of being sick; sick of being tired.
But enough kvetching! It's a special day, and we got some cookies to celebrate!
No pictures of the actual cookies though, mostly because I forgot. I have a huge sweet tooth and got carried away! (Although I promise I didn't eat 12 cookies in one sitting all by myself! 😆)
Unrelated to the cookies, I'm going to the doctor's and getting some blood drawn. Hardly an experience I relish! But I've got to do it.
I'm also trying to "catch up on sleep" (which may or may not be redundant as sleep debt might not be a thing, but that's a topic for another day.)
But I did go ahead and change the title layout back to how it previously was. I much prefer it that way!
Notes:
- The Framework Laptop 13 Pro sounds like a dream machine! (I forgot to talk about it a few days ago, too distracted by the keyboard + trackpad combo!) The new touchpad and CNC aluminum housing sound delightful. After messing with the parts selector though, I built myself a machine costing over $2,600. Definitely not something I can get immediately, haha!
- You might've heard about IETF's Internet Protocol Version 8 (IPv8) draft. Before getting too excited, remember that draft-meow-mrrp-00 also exists. (The ~51 em-dashes should tell you all you need to know.)
- Proxima Centauri is the closest star to Earth (not including our sun.) Despite being "so close", it's not visible to the naked eye.
-Tecno's modular concept looks really good, although I'm doubtful it'll be particularly popular.
- The CMF Buds Pro 2 are on sale for $49.99 (in the U.S.) I've been eyeing these myself, so I figured I'd highlight the sale!
Thoughts:
- The Commodore 64 Ultimate in beige looks really good! Quite expensive though, so I won't get one any time soon. If they're still available around the holidays, I might get one for myself!
- Data Cartels: The Companies That Control and Monopolize Our Information by Sarah Lamdan sounds very interesting and has been added to my Reading List!
- Computer Science and Information Science are slightly different, I've learned, but I still think I'd enjoy studying Computer Science more.
- I've been wanting to improve my handwriting, and stumbled upon this website: Consistent Cursive. Time to practice!
- Sony's Aibo. So much to unpack here! I'd seen these, but never realized what they were. And Sony has kept them around, you can get one right now, in fact. There's a pretty cute video about it on YouTube. But that doesn't reduce the sting of the $3,199 price tag.
- But this does make me nostalgic for Tamagotchis. We had one growing up, and I've been wondering if I should get one again. Maybe it'll keep me awake during the day, haha!
- Speaking of virtual pets, you can actually see the Furby source code. I quite enjoyed this short analysis by Mark. Plus, you can still read Wired's 1998 article!
- I wish there were a Linux From Scratch .epub. I may go ahead and read through the entire thing when I find some time!
- I've got a soft spot for portable gaming machines, and the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 appears to be calling my name...
- I got Xbox Mode enabled on my laptop! It's quite buggy, slow, and I'm unable to leave it at the moment. But at least it's here and I'm sure it'll keep getting improvements!
